Life in lockdown

Well, it’s felt like the longest 3 months in the world since I last wrote my last blog back in March after what can safely be described as one of the most terrifying but surreal experiences that I have ever witnessed in my lifetime.

The first month of lockdown was amazing, being at home with the family, loads of BBQ’s, no work or late nights and lots of fun quizzes and then reality soon hit when the news from “Downing Street” was getting worse everyday at 5pm. From then onwards, I had event after event postponed or in some cases even cancelled with no income coming in as a self employed business owner for the next few months.

The reason why I wanted to write this blog was a number of reasons really:

1. It’s amazing how kind people are and how your closest pull you through tough times so you can survive and keep going.

2. I really felt that I took my life for granted so this really given me a wakeup call needed to enjoy everyday, cherish the time with my family and ensure I have a work life balance.

3. Try to ensure you shop local and support local businesses 9instead of rushing back to the big chains to fill the Director’s pockets. Small businesses need you more than ever at this point so get behind them all!

Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the keyworkers that have managed to get us through the last few months, I can’t wait to host or DJ at your party or event next year as a big thank you for all the hard work you have done.

2021 is looking like one of the busiest years on record for the event industry so if you are looking for a host, DJ or even a few lessons please get in touch with me directly or visit my website for more information.
